“The Negroes Are Congregating is a relentless, in your face, mélange of sketch, vignette, and spoken word that takes you to church and into the Black psyche living with anti-Black racism, all without missing a beat. The play is intricate, funny, contemplative, and incredibly fast-paced.”

About Meeeee.

As a storyteller with a soft-spoken yet dramatic flair, I've dedicated the past decade to amplifying the voices of Black artists. In 2013, I founded PIECE OF MINE Arts, an initiative that has provided a platform for over 200 Black play creators to share their work-in-progress. My own published play, THE NEGROES ARE CONGREGATING (PIECE OF MINE Arts, Theatre Passe Muraille), explores internalized racism through a series of comedic, soulful, and interactive vignettes. This acclaimed and timely work has toured internationally, garnering a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for Outstanding New Play and is the recipient of SummerWorks Festival’s New Performance Text prize.
